Baseball Game Preview: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. Piedmont Highlanders

For the second straight game, Berkeley will face off against Piedmont. The Yellowjackets will host the Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Berkeley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs last Thursday, they were much more limited against Piedmont on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since March 11th.

For Piedmont's part, they got a great performance from William Ferreira as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Vo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

The win made it two in a row for Piedmont and bumps their season record up to 14-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Berkeley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
