Softball Preview: New Kent Trojans vs. Lafayette Rams

New Kent is 10-0 against Lafayette since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The New Kent Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Lafayette Rams at 4:30 p.m. New Kent is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, New Kent faced Poquoson in a battle between two of the state's top teams. New Kent fell just short of Poquoson by a score of 3-2. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs New Kent has scored all season.

Amber Greiner was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).
