Baseball Recap: Flatonia Comes Up Short

Flatonia extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-7-1 in the process. They lost 10-2 to the Shiner Comanches. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comanches this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.

As for Shiner, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-4. Considering they have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Shiner's part, the team relied heavily on Carson Schuette, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Schuette a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cauy Herman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Flatonia will take on Brazos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shiner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
