Softball Recap: Sheridan Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Sheridan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the El Dorado Wildcats a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Cooper Terry looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Skylar Sterritt, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Marly Lancaster, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Sheridan pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for El Dorado, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5-1.

Sheridan will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Nashville at 5:00 p.m. on March 31st. Sheridan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Nashville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for El Dorado, they will head out to challenge Hot Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
