Basketball Game Preview: Eastbrook Panthers vs. Cowan Blackhawks

The Eastbrook Panthers will face off against the Cowan Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Eastbrook saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They fell to Mississinewa 41-37. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite their loss, Eastbrook saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bodie Howell, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most boards Howell has posted since back in January of 2024. Jayden Younce was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Cowan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 64-22 loss at the hands of Daleville. The game marked the Blackhawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Cowan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Eastbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
