Basketball Game Preview: Wren Hurricanes vs. Cane Bay Cobras

The Wren Hurricanes will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Cane Bay Cobras at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Wren is headed into Monday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rowan County on Saturday. The contest marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-16, which was the final score in Cane Bay's tilt against Lewis County on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 204th in South Carolina, while the Minutemen are ranked 30th in West Virginia).

Wren's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Cane Bay, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
