Basketball Recap: Twin Lakes Comes Up Short

Twin Lakes played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 55-30 to the Tri-County Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 83rd).

Despite the defeat, Twin Lakes saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addyson Hines posted 13 points and three steals. Hines is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Lipps, who had two points and 11 rebounds.

Tri-County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sara Zarse, who put up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalynn Iseminger, who scored 13 points.

Twin Lakes dropped their record down to 5-17 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Tri-County, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Twin Lakes has already played their next matchup (against Winamac), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tri-County will challenge Lafayette Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Tri-County's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Lafayette Jefferson's offense will have their work cut out for them.
