Basketball Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

Sierra played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Pueblo County Hornets and fell 66-19. The Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.

Pueblo County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Barger led the charge by going 7 of 11 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Oringdulph, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Sierra is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Pueblo County, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Sierra didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-21 defeat against Pueblo Central on the 14th. As for Pueblo County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-30 win against Denver North on the 14th.
