Volleyball Game Preview: Moreau Catholic Mariners vs. Newark Memorial Cougars

The Moreau Catholic Mariners will venture away from home to take on the Newark Memorial Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Moreau Catholic has seven straight wins, Newark Memorial has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Moreau Catholic won the last time they faced Washington, and Lucas Dong did his part to make sure it happened again. Moreau Catholic blew past Washington 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Dong, who had 19 digs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.

While Moreau Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Newark Memorial came up short against Mission San Jose on Thursday and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16.

Moreau Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Newark Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
