Softball Game Preview: Harts Bluff Bulldogs vs. Maud Cardinals

The Harts Bluff Bulldogs will take on the Maud Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Harts Bluff fell victim to Maud and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Cardinals. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

For Maud's part, Keira Mangtamag made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Furthermore, Mangtamag didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Maud let Brooke Allison and Audrey Hillis run wild. Allison went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Hillis scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Allison has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Tori Loyed, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Maud's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Harts Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
