Seymour is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down St. Paul Catholic 35-18 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

A big part of Seymour's victory came down to the chemistry between Anthony Cortello and his top target Jake George. Seymour didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Max Brito, George, and Connor Shea picked up one apiece. George also posted 103 receiving yards, which is notable because Seymour is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Naugatuck humbled Crosby with a 50-6 victory. Considering the Greyhounds have won five matchups by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Brandon Andoh was his usual excellent self, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Ryan Deitelbaum was another key player, gaining 105 total yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Naugatuck's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Kevin J Cestari with two.

Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Naugatuck, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Friday's game might be decided in the on the ground. Seymour has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Naugatuck struggles in that department as they've been averaging 270.1. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Seymour might still be hurting after the 35-14 loss they got from Naugatuck when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Thankfully for Seymour, Jett Hall (who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
