Softball Recap: Utica Takes a Loss

Anchor Bay hit Utica with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chieftains lost 12-2 to the Tars. The loss continues a trend for the Chieftains in their meetings with the Tars: they've now lost four in a row.

Utica saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Mazza, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Anchor Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Utica will host Marysville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anchor Bay, they will venture away from home to take on Romeo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
