Softball Recap: Seminole Comes Up Short

Seminole's tournament run continued when they took on Merkel on Saturday. The Seminole Indians fell just short of the Merkel Badgers by a score of 6-5. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nola Seay made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sunni Casarez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Seminole will take on Estacado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole is facing Estacado at the right time seeing as Estacado is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Merkel, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sweetwater at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Merkel has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
