Basketball Recap: Vancleave Takes a Loss

Vancleave was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-41 loss at the hands of the Christian Collegiate Academy Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Vancleave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-43 back in November.

Leading Christian Collegiate Academy to victory were Gabe Collier and Tahj Hill. Collier went 7 for 13 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds, while Hill almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. Hill continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Zeke Foster was another key player, putting up nine points.

Vancleave's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Christian Collegiate Academy, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Vancleave will venture away from home to take on Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian Collegiate Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-51 win against Lamar Christian on the 9th.
