Softball Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Woonsocket Villa Novans
Lincoln is a perfect 7-0 against Woonsocket since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will host the Villa Novans at 7:00 p.m. Woonsocket took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Lincoln made easy work of Mt. Hope and carried off a 19-4 win.

Lincoln got a massive performance out of Annika Sampson, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Sampson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Labossiere, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .781. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Hope only posted an OBP of .500.
Meanwhile, Woonsocket was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to St. Raphael Academy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Woonsocket's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lincoln, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
