Football Game Preview: Altoona Railroaders vs. Amery Warriors

The Altoona Railroaders will head out on the road to square off against the Amery Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Altoona will be strutting in after a victory while Amery will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Altoona made easy work of St. Croix Central and carried off a 36-12 win. The Railroaders pushed the score to 36-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Amery came up short against Ellsworth on Saturday, falling 27-6. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Altoona and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points in those games. As for Amery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Altoona came up short against Amery in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 21-16. Can the Railroaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
