Football Recap: Ponaganset Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ponaganset can now relate to. They were outmatched by the East Greenwich Avengers and fell 35-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Chieftains were not able to get on the board.

Aiden Harrison threw for 87 yards on six of 12 attempts. Jackson Conway was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.

East Greenwich got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Lehne out in front who threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. The dominant performance also gave Lehne a new career-high in passer rating (149.3). Spencer Padula helped Lehne out on the ground, picking up 83 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 55 yards.

Ponaganset's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for East Greenwich, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Ponaganset does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Greenwich, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chariho at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
