Softball Recap: Calvert Gets the Win

Calvert's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks by a score of 7-4. The game was the first time the Senecas have beaten the Crimson Streaks on their field since April 8, 2022.

Addison King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Endicott, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Gracie Miller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Calvert's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Calvert is set to take on their familiar foe Danbury at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph Central Catholic will square off against rival Hopewell-Loudon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
