Softball Recap: San Dimas' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

San Dimas came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Monrovia Wildcats as they made off with a 14-1 win. This was payback for the Saints, who suffered a 9-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Audrey Schlim made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

In other pitching news, Isabella Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Tiffany Villegas and Mia Patlan did most of the damage at the plate: Villegas went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Patlan scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Patlan has posted since back in February. Malia Arochi was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

San Dimas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive contests.

San Dimas' victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Monrovia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

San Dimas wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Diamond Ranch on the 25th. As for Monrovia, they have also already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Covina on the 25th.
