Basketball Recap: Gary West Side Takes a Loss

Gary West Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whiting Oilers. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Oilers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Gary West Side's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Whiting, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-13.

Gary West Side has already played their next contest (against Lighthouse College Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Whiting didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-46 defeat against Hammond Bishop Noll on the 1st.
