Baseball Game Preview: Mount St. Mary Rockets vs. Green Mountain Rams

The Mount St. Mary Rockets will take on the Green Mountain Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount St. Mary's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Green Mountain's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mount St. Mary is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mullen just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4. The loss put an end to the Rockets' undefeated start to the season.

Mount St. Mary saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Stanley, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Rylan Kuklinski also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Green Mountain kicked off their season on Thursday but they'll have to wait until their next matchup for a more definitive result. Neither they nor West Point could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 7-7 tie.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mount St. Mary fell to 8-1. Green Mountain's draw gives them a new season record of 0-0-1.
