Baseball Recap: Gadsden Sets Scoring Season-High Against Silver

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gadsden). They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Silver Fighting Colts on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.

Aiden Dominguez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Dominguez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Gadsden got a massive performance out of Robert Martinez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alonso Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The win got Gadsden back to even at 5-5-1. As for Silver, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gadsden will venture away from home to face off against Organ Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Silver, they will head out to challenge Cobre at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cobre has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
