Recap: Benjamin Franklin Electrons vs. High School of the Future
The Benjamin Franklin Electrons waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past High School of the Future with a 65-60 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Benjamin Franklin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Soukare Fane led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. Fane hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Nazire Johnson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
Several High School of the Future players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was D Lubin, who scored 21 points. A Jeune was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Benjamin Franklin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for High School of the Future, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Benjamin Franklin will head out on the road to square off against Martin Luther King at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Martin Luther King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Benjamin Franklin is ranked 211th). As for High School of the Future, High School of the Future and Roxborough will face off at 3:15 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Roxborough is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.6 points per game.
