Recap: Mayfair Monsoons vs. Marin Catholic Wildcats
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mayfair Monsoons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their tough 38-18 defeat to the Wildcats on Saturday might stick with them for a while. Mayfair's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Marin Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peter Macaulay, who threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Those 328 passing yards set a new season-high mark for him. Charles Williams was another key contributor, gaining 187 total yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Marin Catholic's defense and their four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mario Crocitto.
Mayfair's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Marin Catholic, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Mayfair does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marin Catholic also has no future games currently scheduled.
