Softball Game Preview: Plainville Blue Devils vs. New Britain Hurricanes

The Plainville Blue Devils will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the New Britain Hurricanes at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Plainville's offense. They lost 12-0 to East Catholic on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, New Britain unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Farmington on Wednesday, falling 17-9. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Everything went Plainville's way against New Britain in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Plainville made off with a 12-0 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
