New Albany barely beat Alcorn Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 15-5 win on Saturday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Darion Jackson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Evans, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

New Albany kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

New Albany is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Alcorn Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

Coming up, New Albany will venture away from home to take on Byhalia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alcorn Central, they will host Kossuth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
