Softball Game Preview: Oceanside Pirates vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens

The Oceanside Pirates will take on the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oceanside is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Oceanside didn't have quite enough to beat San Dieguito Academy and fell 6-5.

Nayeli Adame was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Irie Filo, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Canyon Crest Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chula Vista.

Alexis McNamee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Oceanside's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1.

Everything went Oceanside's way against Canyon Crest Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Oceanside made off with a 13-3 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Ravens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
