Basketball Recap: Saylor Heberling and Zoe Williams Secure Win for Fort Mill

Fort Mill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Indian Land Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellow Jackets also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Fort Mill was led to victory by Zoe Williams and Saylor Heberling. Williams went 6 for 8 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and three blocks, while Heberling went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in points. Natyia Parker was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Fort Mill was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indian Land only racked up four assists.

Indian Land lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emily Callahan, who went 5 for 12 en route to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Knoll, who posted two points in addition to 14 rebounds and five steals.

Fort Mill's record is now 10-7. As for Indian Land, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Fort Mill will head out to square off against Nation Ford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Indian Land has already played their next game, a 37-22 win against Garinger on the 18th.
