Stratford's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Berkeley on Monday. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Goose Creek Gators a 10-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Jacob Deacon tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Stratford got a big performance out of Jason Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Smith has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Herpolsheimer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Stratford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goose Creek only posted an OBP of .333.

Stratford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Goose Creek, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15-2.

Stratford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
