Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Sentinels vs. Bingham Miners

For the second straight game, Mountain Ridge will face off against Bingham. The Sentinels will host the Miners at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mountain Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Bingham, who was ranked ninth at the time (Mountain Ridge was ranked fifth). The Sentinels fell just short of the Miners by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The Sentinels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Bingham's part, they got a great performance from Delton Cramer as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, Cramer posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Bingham's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zach Sorenson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Kam Beck was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Bingham, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
