Baseball Recap: Chavez's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Chavez was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Taft Wildcats. The game marked the first time this season in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

Chavez got a good showing from Julian Villarreal, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Villarreal gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

With the loss, Chavez broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for Taft, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8.

Coming up, Chavez will face off against Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Taft, they will be taking part in a tournament against Sanger at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday.
