Basketball Recap: Maeser Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Maeser Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waterford Ravens. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Ravens from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Carter Nielson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Waterford, going 6 for 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Nielson has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Cheffings, who posted seven points along with six boards and five assists.

Maeser Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Waterford, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Maeser Prep Academy has already played their next contest (against Draper APA), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Waterford has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Rowland Hall.
