Softball Recap: Northampton Beats Hazleton Area for Their Fifth Straight Win

Northampton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hazleton Area on Thursday. The Konkrete Kids blew past the Cougars 11-1. Winning may never get old, but the Konkrete Kids sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Northampton pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Hazleton Area, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northampton will square off against Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Konkrete Kids 4.1, the Cardinals 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hazleton Area, they will take on Cumberland Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
