Baseball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage lost against Broughton back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Heritage Huskies fell just short of the Broughton Capitals by a score of 6-5. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage got a good showing from Todd Timberlake, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave Timberlake a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Kilgore, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Kilgore a new career-high in RBI (two). Another was Tyler Abbe, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Heritage now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Broughton, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Heritage will head out on the road to challenge Leesville Road at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Broughton, they will be playing at home against Green Hope at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
