Football Recap: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Collinsville Kahoks
With a playoff game on the line, Batavia rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Collinsville Kahoks 54-13. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Isaiah Brown had a dynamite game for Batavia, picking up 109 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Whitwell, who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Although Collinsville took the loss, they still got scores from Chase Reynolds and Andrew Balsitis.
The victory (which was Batavia's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. As for Collinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Batavia will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lincoln-Way West at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Lincoln-Way West's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four matches. Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
