Recap: Floydada Whirlwinds vs. Olton Mustangs
It was a good run, but the Floydada Whirlwinds unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Olton by a score of 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Floydada has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Floydada lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyrean Henderson, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braun Hobbs, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Floydada's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-8. As for Olton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.
Floydada will head out on the road to challenge Hale Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Floydada focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Olton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ralls at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Olton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ralls in Texas (Olton is ranked 663rd, while Ralls is ranked 1338th).
