Baseball Recap: Cheraw Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Cheraw entered their tilt with North Central on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Knights 16-2. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Nick Gordon was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Terrence Blackmon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cheraw kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cheraw pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for North Central, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Coming up, Cheraw is taking a road trip to take on Darlington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Central, they will square off against McBee at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
