Baseball Recap: Berea Comes Up Short

Berea fell victim to Clay County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Berea and nudges their season record down to 6-16. As for Clay County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season.

Berea will square off against Williamsburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellow Jackets have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Clay County, they will venture away from home to square off against Harlan County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
