Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Lancers vs. O'Fallon Panthers

Lafayette is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of O'Fallon. The Lancers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. Lancers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Panthers since on Friday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Lafayette sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-19, 17-25, 25-21.

Alex Griffon paced Lafayette's offense, picking up ten kills. Griffon got some help from Ethan Tran and his 23 assists.

O'Fallon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Kulp, who had five aces. Those five aces gave Kulp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Niyam Ketan Patel, who had nine digs and one assist.
