Norton won the last time they faced Ashland and things went their way on Monday too. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Clockers. Considering the Lancers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Liana Danubio made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Avery Tinkham was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Donahue, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
The victory (which was Norton's fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ashland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
