Baseball Recap: Warrensburg's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Warrensburg entered their tilt with Lake Placid on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 21-20 W against the Bombers.

Louis Lang was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lang was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maris Martin and Ben Holcomb did most of the damage at the plate: Martin got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Holcomb went 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Martin has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Caleb Remington, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Warrensburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Warrensburg's record now sits at 16-4. As for Lake Placid, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warrensburg will face off against Lake George at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Burgers will need to watch out since the Lakers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Lake Placid, they will take on Crown Point at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
