Volleyball Recap: Rosholt Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Rosholt and Wabeno/Laona squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Rosholt had to settle for second. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since September 18th.

Kami Hintz paced Rosholt's offense, picking up nine kills. Hintz got some help from Elizabeth Trzinski and her 22 assists. Trzinski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Wabeno/Laona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Connor led the charge by getting five digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Connor is now averaging an impressive 12.1 assists per game. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Tinsman, who had three digs and two aces.

With the loss, Rosholt broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 15-14. As for Wabeno/Laona, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-10.

Rosholt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wabeno/Laona, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Crivitz on the 25th.
