Volleyball Recap: Salida's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games + How To Watch

It was a good run, but Salida unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Dolores Bears. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Hazel Brown paced Salida's offense, picking up six kills. Brown got some help from Madisyn Wilcox and her 13 assists. Finally, Myah Scott kept Salida's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Salida's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Dolores, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Salida will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Vanguard School at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Dolores, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Montezuma-Cortez on the 2nd.
