Basketball Recap: Wilton Comes Up Short

Wilton extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 8-6. They fell 71-59 to the St. Joseph Cadets. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cadets since Monday.

As for St. Joseph, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The game was the first time they have beaten Wilton on their court since January 3, 2020.

St. Joseph's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Febus led the charge by shooting 44% from the field on his way to 21 points and seven assists. With that strong performance, Febus is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Noah Adolphe was another key player, going 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, Wilton will face off against Ridgefield at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-58 loss against Trumbull on the 4th.
