Softball Recap: West Central Area Extends Winning Streak to Five

While West Central Area's win against Minnewaska Area wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lakers 9-7. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on five straight.

The team relied heavily on Addison Staples, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Fagre, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Central Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

West Central Area pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Minnewaska Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

West Central Area will take on Sauk Centre at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Minnewaska Area, they will square off against Osakis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
