Softball Recap: South Bend Adams Drops Season-High Score on Elkhart Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Bend Adams). They never let Elkhart Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Monday. South Bend Adams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Angela McNellis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McNellis was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Julia McNellis was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Avery Kidwell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

South Bend Adams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for South Bend Adams and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
