Basketball Game Preview: Bend Lava Bears vs. Sweet Home Huskies

The Bend Lava Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Sweet Home Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bend knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Sweet Home likes a good challenge.

Bend is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Madras just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the White Buffaloes.

Bend's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cash Hattenhauer, who went 8 of 18 en route to 22 points. Another player making a difference was Max Duncan, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Sweet Home can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Siuslaw by the margin of a single free throw, 49-48.

Bend's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Sweet Home, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.
