Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Word of God Academy Force a 10-0 shutout. Considering Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool has won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Eliza Long was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyse Sistrunk, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Cheryl Dishong was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Word of God Academy only posted an OBP of .167.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Word of God Academy, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
