Basketball Recap: Pittsburg Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Pittsburg won the last time they faced Deer Valley, and Yariah Asidanya did her part to make sure it happened again. The Pittsburg Pirates claimed a resounding 66-29 win over the Deer Valley Wolverines thanks in part to Asidanya, who posted 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. She has become a key player for Pittsburg: the team is 6-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 5-12 otherwise.

Jurnee Cox was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Pittsburg and bumps their season record up to 11-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Deer Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
