Football Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Southampton Indians, falling 30-0. The Cavaliers lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 59-0 score last time.

The critical scores for Southampton came from Ivan Golden, Qmarai Allen, Kelin Benjamin, and Miguel Bradshaw.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Southampton, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Lakeland and Southampton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cavaliers will challenge rival Deep Creek at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Southampton is set to square off against their familiar foe Sussex Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
